Danny was added to this for his ability to catch. He has recently been added to the pitching rotation and makes a big impact in that department. Phillips can play the outfield which will get him more playing time. The Redsox hope he can provide a punch off the bench with his bat as well. Danny is a tower guy on the mound with a good fastball and some nice breaking balls to offset the heat. Phillips could be a closer for this team down the stretch if you can locate the strike with every pitch.
